Building A Budget MID Tier Gaming PC!

Today we are building a mid tier gaming PC on a budget. This will not perform like a budget PC but will save you quite a bit of money. When we are done we should have an upgradable and future prof gaming system that doesn't cost us a fortune. Our budget is only $800 but we are getting a lot for that price.

It's hard to believe you can build a BUDGET PC for $800, when a few years ago you couldn't even get a GPU for that price.

Excellent build and video. For those who don't want to build their own for whatever reason, check out prebuilt CyberPower PC, can get one for 800 that has a PNY 3070 RTX GPU, 16 GB Ram, 1 TB SSD, AMD Ryzen 5 5500, Windows 11. No bloatware, great for gaming.

Sure do enjoy your content and I especially enjoyed this build. YOU can have a very serviceable gaming rig without selling blood plasma! Kudos!

A couple of my friends started streaming back in Feb, using a laptop... I told them I've been building pcs for 25 years, and I would be happy to put a list together for them... 500 dollars later and they have a competent pc for streaming, with some room to upgrade if they want and need to...

Great pc build. I'm jealous, I want one too, but I've no money for upgrades. :)

This is awesome and a good idea for anyone looking to not have to take out a mortgage on a new gaming tower! Personally, I would encourage people to go with the built in wifi for the extra $15. Although I use hard wired, it's a more future proof design that allows you to move the computer around your home as needed without worrying about immediate proximity to the router.

Sorta unrelated, but wondering if you could consider doing a video for "best options" for those folks with older PCs that are not supported for Windows 11. I know you talked about Windows 10 Extended Support, but I think it would be good to have a series of options (install Win 11 unsupported, Windows 10 extended service, Linux install, Chrome OS Flex, or even time to recycle the old PC). I feel different people are in different positions, so it might be good to know which option is best for which situation.

Only thing I would change is the PSU. I refuse to go non Modular even if it cost more. But I understand the budget issue.

I'm not a gamer but do video editing, CAD (Fusion 360), 3d printing, CNC router woodworking. Currently have a desktop with 2 monitors, 3 laptops, all of which cannot be upgraded to W11. I bet the PC manufacturers love Bill Gates for forcing everyone to buy new machines. SCAM. Any idea how much to build a comparable machine with W11 or off the shelf buys. Already converted one Samsung laptop to Linux to start learning if I can live with that and all that I need to do.

Awesome insight! I have that same 2080 in my system. I wish I could upgrade, currently recovering fromn cancer so no budget and my system needs to last as long as I can keep it going. Don't laught. It works! AM3 9590, 32 Corsair Vengence, Gigabyte MB, SP SSD 2tb and 4tb for games, and my main runs Samsung 850 pro SSD. 1000w Asus ROG Thor, EVGA RTX2080 Ti 11gb, all water cooled using a dual swiftech dual pump.(hard to find that pump now). So there ya have it. older, but man it plays everthing I can throw at it mostly at ultra, but I play satisfactory and it barely makes it no matter the levels since that game is really intensive. Anyhow, good job on the budget. Maybe next year I can start some upgrades one by one.

With a system like this, turn up anti-aliasing to 4 or 8x's for GTA 5. I think the fps limit is 180fps before you start to have problems with the game engine.

Shadow of the tomb raider....

The genre Google Assistant says is "action adventure, puzzle, shooter"....

That was a pretty obvious way to try to get engagement....

used to buy asus boards all the time, but their quality has gone way down. my last board was gigabyte and never gave me issues, but this recent build I did, I used a msi edge wifi and its been stellar

The only reason I would've gone with the RGB case is because of the extra fans. I've never cared about fancy cases or RGB lighting; I've always been concerned about system performance. I know I'm in the minority on this because fancy cases and RGB lighting are huge profit-makers for many companies.

Paid 100 bucks for an i7 Optiplex 9020 and slapped a 65 dollar 1050ti card in it a few years ago. Boom under 200 and 1080p gaming

i think i would have gone with a 7500f instead and get a better rated PSU for upgrade ability.... those Thermaltake psu arent as reliable long term
