Nest x Yale Lock Review: Should you get it?

This is a Review of the Nest x Yale Lock, a smart lock that integrates seamlessly into your Nest Ecosystem. The lock provides remote management, in order for you to control it when you're not home. It's a great addition if you're into the Nest Products and already own a Nest Hello. Unfortunately, There is no homekit support at this time.

For those with Nest Secure security the lock is a no brainer. It can disarm your alarm when you enter the code on the lock. Also, if your WiFi goes down the lock will then use the cellular connector of the Nest Secure if you have that feature added on.

Rather it have the Nest logo on it than Yale but overall this is awesome door lock esp in the
Nest ecosystem

Being "out of luck" if the thing dies is a dealbreaker. They should make it compatible with a normal key as well

Just a simple question, I have 2, front door and garage door, but the problem and I don't like, there is no way to use deferent code for each one, . If I give a temporal code for garage door, that code can be use for the front door, that is the only thing I don't like.

Is this safe? I imagine it wouldn't be hard for robber to break the faceplate off and unscrew it? Does this work in the rain btw?

Thank you for this informative video. I do live in Miami and in hurricane season sometimes we are out of power for few days or weeks. What is the best solution for this keyless lock. I really loved this lock but still confused. Please answer. Thank you.

I think it is better without key. Key holes is a weak point and can be picked.

It would be great if products like this worked reliably. I’ve had this installed and working it took several attempts and a little black magic to finally get it to connect to Nest. I had to reset the master code and once again I’m banging my head against the wall trying to get it to connect to Nest. My strong warning is, unless you’re a nerd you may not want to consider this device.
