An extreme statement: Nalin Kohli on Kapil Sibal's statement

Senior lawyer and Rajya Sabha member Kapil Sibal has expressed his disappointment with certain recent Supreme Court decisions, stating he "no longer has any hope" in the court.

"Jis court mein judge bithaye jaate hain (where judges are instituted through a process of compromise), a court where there is no system to determine which case will be presided over by which bench, where the Chief Justice of India decides which matter will be dealt with by which bench and when, that court can never be independent," said Sibal in reference to the judiciary's independence.
