A tribute to the Mums this Mother's Day...

Amidst the noise and chaos in the world as we know it, it has become increasing clear how much energy we give to the insignificant; the meaningless; the unnecessary. Over time, we have all been guilty of being caught up in our own “busy lives” of self-importance and perhaps overlooked what truly does matter; our family. 

This Mother’s Day, I invite you to take this nostalgic walk with me; to reflect on your own situations with a deep admiration and gratitude; to raise your glasses in honour of the tremendous sacrifices these special humans have made; to give thanks for their support, for their advocacy, their unconditional love and for burdens they shoulder with such grace. Although it wasn’t always the best time, our mother’s were always trying their best.

On this day, I think it’s important that we also acknowledge the wider spectrum of mothers who have lost children, those who couldn’t bear children, those who weren’t our mothers but stepped up to fill the role and the fathers who accepted the challenge of playing both Dad and Mum in single parent families.

To all of the Mother's, thank you for being a beacon of light and guiding us through the dark times.

And to my mum Ange, (A-dawg) I say Thank-you
