Everyone was so nice to him in paradise yet he barely stayed for a few seconds because he was so determined to find his wife only to find out she doesn't feel the same anymore. Perhaps this was about learning to let go and embrace new things, like the hotdog. I really liked this short, especially how "Heaven" was portrayed, it felt very surreal and unique.

The bluntness of Jerome shattering into peices will always be my favorite part of the film. The way the frame lingers on his broken shards is just perfect

The art is magnificent, and the story is even more brilliant 👌It puts a "full stop", a realistic end to "eternal immortal love stories". The man breaks apart after confronting his wife's point of view, but soon we understand it's not the end! He is repairable! He is alive again, and he's hungry enough to enjoy his hotdog at the beach 😅
Life goes on, with or without others. The one and only reality is the person him/herself.

Ohhhh it was a metaphor the whole time! Poor Jerome was so preoccupied with returning to his wife that he failed to explore the beauty of his surroundings, and was thus unable to experience paradise. His kinda-suicide at the end is a great parallel to the shattering despair of a breakup or a loss, but he returns anew and learns to move on

Anyone notice her feelings toward him changed as soon as she found out what he did to be there? I almost feel like if he had come there naturally things would have been different

i think it’s very poetic that he was looking for his wife in others throughout his entire journey, not soaking in their quirks or individuality but how they related to the women he yearned for. it’s a common thing people do and it was interesting seeing a subject like that expanded on in such an abstract way.

I love the artwork. I can see a lot of influence from experimental dark-age animated films (Yellow Submarine, Allegro Non Troppo, Twice Upon a Time, etc) but it feels like its own well-thought-out thing instead of just being derivative of those. Elevating a lost style.

this is so well done - especially the inclusion of a variety of styles that all come together… the story, the pacing is all so thoughtful!!

I'm wondering if the wife knew it wasn't his heaven. She asked "You didn't come here just for me?" And his answer is what shifted the mood between them. Maybe she truly didn't want them to be together, but I think it was more of she knew that was not his heaven. The beach was vastly different from her version of Paradise.

This is one of the most visually stunning art short films I've ever seen! 😩🔥🔥

Un court-métrage original et réussi, qui me restera longtemps en tête. Lorsqu'on a été brisé, c'est un travail de fourmi pour se reconstruire mais c'est possible et on peut alors croquer la vie à belles dents...

this is exactly how i like my animation - weird trippy and ridiulous. But can we just appreciate how good the actual animation is? beyond style, the pacing, the motion, the framing, the comedic timing, everything is perfect.

The animation and the visuals are excellent, and the story shows well the absurdity of people's ideas about the "afterlife". The conventional visons of paradise truly are nothing more than a refection of our own foolish desires, a convenient mirror showing our own imperfection. Awareness is a great blessing, some say that's the only thing you need to be free.

Gobelins is my dream academy and I really would love to attend, but I can't manage to do that, so in the meantime, i'll just love the animation prejects :, )

Il ne faut jamais consacrer sa vie à une autre personne... j'aime beaucoup ce message. Il ne faut jamais s'oublier soi et veiller à son propre bonheur de vivre.

Getting huge Yellow Submarine vibes with this one. Love it~

The idea that there's nothing after we die is scary, but the idea that there's a never-ending after life is utterly horrifying.
