AirPods Max on an Airplane - how it's (actually) like.

The AirPods Max are not perfect for traveling, that's why in this video I'll tell you if they are perfect for traveling. From noise cancelation, transparency mode, to how comfortable they actually are. After a year of texting, I've got a lot to tell you.

I’ve used my AirPods Max a few times while on a flight now, and I’m still amazed how quiet it can really get, i barely hear the plane itself! it’s insane.

They are really good on planes, I’ve travelled to 5 countries(going on my 6th) next week in the last 8months and for my last trip I purchased the AirPod Max. To cut a long story short, they’re amazing. I was using the Bose QC35ii before but honestly the Max was a worthwhile upgrade. Those who own many apple products(Mac, iPad, etc…) the AirPods Max is definitely a purchase I would recommend if you’re able to find them for £100-£200 off their retail cost.

For me, the AirPods Pro still seem to offer everything that i'm looking for without having too much stuff. Often, less is more. I see that more and more each day :) Always a pleasure to see your vlogs Nikias! :)

I just literally used these today September 4, 2022 on the airplane. For reference I sat in coach at the back of the plane where I would say is the loudest. The aircraft itself gets loud but of course there are other factors that are involved when flying first class compared to coach. I fly both but I fly coach or at least comfort majority of the time. I was very excited to test these and to see if they really could actively cancel noise and to my surprised it did. I literally felt like I had to pop my ears as if the elevation had muffled my hearing. Once I tapped transparency mode I knew at that moment why the price point. Oh and by the way I’ve never seen these in public until today and I fly often in the airport. It’s weird because I know people have them but man it’s always weird when you purchase something and now you start to see that product more often. If you made it this far in my comment don’t hesitate to buy them if you can.

I think that the AirPods max looks excellent, but the price seems way too much for a pair of headphones.

I love Apple products but I’ll stick with my Sony WH-1000 XM4s for now. I’ll consider the AirPod Max when they do a refresh on them. Hopefully the improvements will make them worth it for me.

I’ve just purchased them in Space Grey.They arrived today.Here in the UK 🇬🇧 Amazon are currently selling them with £100 off at £449. Very impressed with them.Sound quality is excellent.Not planning to use them for travelling.Will mainly use them indoors.

I’ve traveled all over the states for work and I think the problems you are having are strictly your problems. Wouldn’t travel with anything but AirPod Max. Had these on over 7 hrs and forgot they were on. They feel great on or off, 2 colleagues said they love to travel also with these and wouldn’t use anything others than these. Maybe it’s your expectations. One reason these types of reviews are totally honest. What you experience isn’t what others do.

Ironically, I’m going on a trip that involves a very long flight, soon, and I bought apple’s lightning to aux cable especially for that. I’ve done that long before this video came out and now you’re giving the advice that I’ve already put into motion!

I want AirPods Max, but the case and being lightning powered are both bad moves. Everything they have are going wireless or USB-C. My iPad Pro is the only Apple device I plugin to charge. Everything else, watch, AirPods Pro, and my iPhone, all sit on a wireless charger. As much as I want the AirPods Max, I'm hoping for a 2nd gen model that fixes the issues.

Agree with most points. However, for traveling, you can buy thin silicon protectors for the earcups and the headband of the Max, then put the whole thing in a thin bag. Since the Max is built so much better, you don't need to have a big case.
Now the weight of these headphones should be about the same as Sony and Bose headphones when you put these headphones in their case.
