So what about the native token of a Layer 2 network that has its own Blockchain/Sidechain. Assets such as MATIC (Polygon) for example? Its the native whatever that is also used to pay for transaction fees on the Layer 2 Polygon network built ontop of Ethereum.

Just read an article before watching this video: Bitcoin and Etherium are tokens...how can I call Bitcoin, Token...when the name itself is Coin. Bitcoin has its own blockchain...right? so that's why it is a coin. Like Dogecoin, it also has its own blockchain. Does not rely on other networks, to send and or receive.

That just made me have more questions! I'm even more confused now than I was before! Why are there so many! Can I use them for buying things? I don't see any of these as an option to pay when I go on Amazon.... What's the point? Can't I just ask you to invest 50 euros and I'll give you 1000 Unicorn butterfly fairy dust tokens?
