Why Falling Off the Wagon on Your Diet Isn’t a Bad Thing

Показать описание
We've all been there.
We've been so excited to start on a new nutritional adventure that we dive in head first, gather all of our new goodies and recipes, put on our meal prep pants, and go full force into diet X for a week and a half.
Then the stress of life and our schedules get to us. We don't have the skill set we need built up yet so we flounder. We start to backslide and by the end of week 3 we're back to our pre-diet state, confused and writing the whole experience off as another failure.
Stop right there!
It's only a failure if you don't take the time to examine what you've been through and why it didn't work.
This is EXACTLY what I teach my patients and why I'm so excited when they tell me they've fallen off of their diet.
At first they think I'm a little weird for smiling at them when they feel like they've let themselves and me down. But then I explain and it all makes sense.
I've walked this on-again off-again diet path many times and I feel that what I've learned from my experiences needs to be shared.
So don't throw your hands up in exasperation just yet!
