Also notice the following differences between Windows 7 beta build 7000 & the official release:
•HomeGroup uses a different icon (in Windows Explorer) compared to the very different one seen in the official release of Windows 7.
•Calculator, Control Panel, Desktop Gadgets, Paint, & Sticky Notes use their icons from Windows Vista, rather than their newer ones. The Desktop Gadgets icon was likely changed just to remove the reference to Windows Vista’s default desktop background.
•The Stocks Gadget from Windows Vista is still present in this beta, but it was later removed just like the Contacts & Sticky Notes Gadgets (speaking of which, I wonder why were those three removed...).

I used to have a copy of Windows 7 RC build 7100 lol, way back in 2009. I was 9 years old when I used Windows 7 RC. Wow time has sure passed! Nice video to bring back my memories :D

I want the look of beta (Blue computer properties, old shine effect for start button and wallpaper)

this build used to be so fascinating to me, I don't know if it's the fact it *almost* looks like windows 7 RTM but with slightly different graphics, or whether it's just a beta build of windows, I loved this build a lot and have lost total track of how many times I've reinstalled it

Ah, I remember getting the Windows 7 beta build 7000 from the official Microsoft website back in January 2009 and installing it along side by dual booting with Windows Vista that I had at the time. In fact I loved the Windows 7 beta that I used it more than my main Windows Vista Partition. I can't believe it's been 10 years!

If Microsoft did not destroy Windows 7, I would still use windows 7. The Windows 7 start menu was better than the icons. For me windows 7 is the best windows.Let your place be a paradise windows 7 :(

Even in beta, Windows 7 is still more polished than 10 will ever be.

The features in Windows 7 were so massive and new at the time, but are now so mundane.
I just wish Microsoft kept Aero Glass with Windows 10.

Remember so vividly when this came out in early 2009.. Windows has changed so much.

Man I loved windows 7; especially the colourful, 3D nature of it. Microsoft really sucked while trying to force the bland, flat scheme with windows 8 onwards

The icon for the paint program in windows 7 looked a lot better in the beta and I personally like the start orb animation from the beta better .

The beta wallpaper is way better than the default wallpaper in the redeem version.
