NEW UPDATE!! v5.0 SPECIAL PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT & What to Expect? - Genshin impact

Hoyoverse has announced the special program date for version 5.0 way earlier than expected, surprising everyone with this announcement. We are finally going to Natlan in version 5.0, which is scheduled to release on August 28th, and everyone is eagerly awaiting the highly anticipated 5.0 livestream.

Hoyoverse usually conducts the special program for any patch 10 to 12 days before its release, typically on Fridays, and they announce it 3 to 5 days in advance. However, this time, the Version 5.0 Livestream is scheduled to broadcast live on August 16 at 12:00 AM UTC-4, which is 8 hours earlier than past version-exclusive special programs. You can watch the special program on Genshin Impact's official YouTube and Twitch channels.

Since the livestream’s art doesn’t feature any chibi characters, the program is likely going to be hosted by Hoyoverse CEO and co-founder Dawei, alongside some members of the Genshin Impact development team. The Chinese announcement stated that this special program will last for 1 hour and 45 minutes, making it the longest livestream to date. You can expect to see a ton of information and possibly some music performances, so let's take a look at everything we can expect from this special program.

As soon as the livestream starts, they will show us the official trailer for version 5.0, giving us a sneak peek of Natlan's storyline. We didn't see Columbina in the previous Natlan trailer, so I'm hoping they will show us at least some content about her. However, they didn't reveal Arlecchino in the 4.0 trailer, so don't get your hopes up.

After the trailer, they will reveal the upcoming 5.0 banners, which are looking really good. According to info from reliable sources, Kazuha and Raiden Shogun will be getting their rerun banners in version 5.0, alongside Mualani and Kinich's banners. Mualani and Kazuha are expected to get their banners in phase one, whereas Kinich and Raiden Shogun are expected to get their banners in phase two. As for Kachina, she will most likely appear on the phase one banners, but this is subject to change.

Keep in mind that although the sources are very reliable, this information is still quite early and is subject to change, so take it with a grain of salt. We will also get to see the official kit and gameplay of Mualani, Kinich, and Kachina, so that's one more reason to look forward to the upcoming special program. Hoyoverse will also reveal the two new artifact sets releasing in 5.0, and they will showcase the new map, new events, enemies, and more. So, don't forget to watch the livestream.

Additionally, we are getting a new mechanic called Night Spirit or Night Soul, which will be a part of all Natlan characters' kits, so I'm definitely excited for the 5.0 special program. Lastly, during the special program, Hoyoverse will release three new redemption codes worth 100 primogems each, so don't forget to redeem them as soon as possible.

I think the early announcement is to coincide with this year's Hoyo Fest. The date of the livestream is right in the midst of Hoyo Fest across Southeast Asia, where I live (the livestream is on the 16th, while Hoyo Fest is running from August 8th to 19th, but I still suggest checking your local schedules, as the dates differ between countries). It must be something big if Hoyo announced it this early, cause usually, they announce the livestream at least a week early barring any unforeseen circumstances.
