Very nice--I also paint initially acrylic and then oil over. Have not used fan for tree leaf areas--have to try that. Thanks.

It is so simple! But you need to practice for several years for stage 1 to be able to use the correct colors and values for underpainting. After all, you need to train for several years for stage 2, because drawing unevenly distributed points, such as leaves, is very difficult! )

As always, I'm mesmerised watching this. I'm new to painting, only started mid Feb and I'm trying watercolour. I know this is not watercolour but would you still paint in the same way? Blocking, dark texture bits and finally the lighter bits. I know in watercolour it's lighter colours to dark so would it be similar only opposite way round? Lighter bits then darker?
