Last Day of Summer OC Animatic

This was my final assignment for my storyboarding class this fall quarter at SCAD. I had such a blast making this and I'm super happy with how it turned out

Storyline:
The main character Ikari (White dragon) has returned from a long and dangerous journey to defeat the villainous outlaw in hopes of avenging his father's death. However, once he returns home and reunites with his brother Daku, he learns a dark and dangerous truth about the murder of their father.

I am OBSESSED with the shape language in their designs all the agressive movements accentuated by triangles and then the other dragon has very firm square shapes with large round eyes and a more rounded mouth shape its just so BEAUTIFUL holy hell a work of true art i love these guys so much and the COLOR LANGUAGE too man its so good 10/10 love the designs

Ok, I really need a full story about two dragon brothers who were very close and their ideals tear them apart.
Even with the audio coming from a musical, I'm in love with the chemistry between these two.

Plus, I really like these two, they have their own charm.

GOD I LOVE the use of the Percy Jackson musical for this!!! Honestly one of my favorite tunes from the whole musical. The emotion and the one moment of lip syncing too 😩😩😩 has me in SHAMBLES.

I’ve been trying to make an animatic to this song with some of my fairy OCs. I used to work at a summer camp so I’ve been sketching it out in a book while on the bus to out trips or at parks, and the kids have been watching me draw. When they asked me about it I had trouble explaining to them so I showed them some example PJ animatics and this is one of them. This was their favourite one. To be fair it’s mine too. Since then whenever we were at a park they always asked me “Can we watch the dragon video?” “Play the dragon video!”
So yeah, the kiddos at my old summer camp love your work!

I too am working on a final assignment for the semester but this, I cannot stop rewatching this. This is incredible, just so well made. The imagery is fantastic, I am obsessed! I gotta go i'm getting distracted but ahhhh this is amazing!
