How strong does the light need to be? Does it just provide the turtles with a distinct day/night cycle? I was wondering if just a simple LED strip light recessed into the wood shelf above the tubs would provide all the light they need.

I’m very interested in doing this for mine. Could anyone tell me how I could do this set up for my hatchling 3 toeds that hatched in July and a yearling Eastern box turtle. How do you regulate heat for the more terrestrial species?
