KSP: The GIGANTIC Space Station!

For some reason I decided that an 80m long Space Station would be best-assembled using an SSTO in 1 launch.

KRAKEN SOLUTION HERE!!

Matt, there is a simple solution to the Kraken death shake problem. There is no need for strut spamming, or turning off auto-strut or SAS, warping, etc Notice, the problem only happens with complex ships or when ships are combined/docked. Two docked ships effectively create one complex ship. What they all have in common are multiple possible control points. The problem appears to be the result of confusion/competition between those control parts (command pods, probe cores, docking ports, etc.) as to whom is in control of the ship.

SOLUTION: Simply right click on ANY part with the option "Control from here", and assign control to that part. It doesn't matter which one you choose, and the Kraken goes away. It's just that simple.

I discovered this solution years ago, and have not lost a single ship to it since.

Good luck!

"If you are not familiar with how things crash in KSP, you are not playing it properly."
Made me smile, thank you.

I build really large stuff, but once it goes beyond some point I need "kerbal joint reinforcement".
It’s kind of cheaty but actually calms the kraken a lot! try it.

Matt: talks about the lifting stage.
Also Matt: builds a small spaceplane.
Me: How is that going to get the craft to

Since Matt forgot (again), here's a whisky review for you all:
today we have highland park valknut.
it has a rich taste, and is very well defined. definitely not something to just do shots with, but a flavour to savour.

Matt: Gigantic rotating space station launched by SSTO

Me: Science lab and solar panel, take it or leave it

Matt, do you reckon it’s possible to create a single vessel which is just one large ring around a moon or something

Even "gigantic" seems to be an understatement

Matt Lowne, I have the same problem with my massive Station here. I used physics range extender to increase the area in which the game precisely calculates physics from something like 100m to 300 or 400 and it solved most of the problems but this still happened but much less often.
I suggest you give it a try, but disable it once you stop using the craft

19:10 fail or not, I would love to see a short film of the Kerbals having to go EVA to get to the escape vessels. Maybe add a touch of Michael Bay.

Don't feel bad, seeing "even you" fail at something in ksp makes someone out there okay with failing a few times themselves.

"Lost the will to live, don't need this stress in my life." Refreshing to hear Matt say that. I had to take a break from my Eve craft construction, it was getting really frustrating, even though I'm probably 90% done.

The strutting is literally a spiderweb

Edit: the small fuel tanks even look like flies trapped

MATT THERES A SOLUTION
I was messing with my own ship of this scale a few weeks back, and I’m 97% sure that it’s the rotors. Shut down the gravity rings before you launch the refueling craft and try it again. This should work, best of luck!

I actually can’t do anything in ksp but idc because this is lit

At this point, NASA should just hire YOU to plan the next 25 years of their tech tree.

Hi Matt, I watch the velocity lake series and your ksp videos even though I play neither of the games and I always enjoy them, sadly I dont have the cash to pay for a pc good enough to run either game, thank you for these videos since they are always fun to watch.
