Conscription is such a disgusting law and barbaric in how It's used with force. In Ukraine men are dragged away peacefully walking their dog and suddenly a van pulls up and masked men in military uniform drag them out to be murdered in war.
This is literally "Lamb to a slaughterhouse" but until It's our turn here in the comments, we'll never understand how vile that law is and *forcing innocent people to die* as combatants.

It could try…. We could start with single men, with no fixed abode, who have entered the country illegally. Once they’ve served for a few years, they could be granted British Citizenship. This used to happen regularly from commonwealth countries and provided a reasonably buoyant but small group of recruits.
