Surf Ranch with Kelly Slater

I had a chance to head out to Kelly Slater's surf ranch. Kelly invited a bunch of us out here after the Keiki Classic a kids surfing event on the big island.

When pops says "move up" he means stomp the front of your back foot into the stringer a half foot above the stomp pad! There's another gear you can reach moving your back foot above the traction deck driving from the center. Learned about that at rincon. It's not an exact science! haha

It's a nice wave, but you actually aren't learning much
You are practicing how to perform when everything goes right
But when you are out there in the ocean with actual dangers, you are rated on how you perform when not everything goes right, even sometimes when everything goes wrong
