Just thought this info might be useful for you 3D printing people...Crystal kitty litter (not the clay stuff) is the same stuff they put in desiccant bags. I build Rocket Mass Heaters and that is one of the ingredients to make 'water glass' I need for my builds.

Great video, Wayne. I've never seen how these 3d printers work. Thank you for the walk-through.

Diamond toys released some black hole toys for Vincent, Bob, and Maximilian. They are outstanding. That being said, I hope you release the files for that Gail Vincent.

Nice video, I just recently added 2 Bambu Printers to my shop. They are really great too. These are definitely easier than they used to be.

Great video, thanks for making this! Subscribed and waiting for the more comprehensive review, as this machine is currently my no. 1 choice as the next workshop printer. I'm curious to see what kind of speeds and quality for exampl regular 3rd party PLA results. I don't need 600mm/s speeds, but even 120mm/s would be three times faster than my current production rate, LOL!

Well done sir, that machine is glorious, gimme gimme lol.

Looks like a very good printer. May I ask - how do you feel that this would be for a total newbie to 3D printing? I am looking around for good starter printers. The Bambu Labs offerings look good too, but I have heard bad reviews about the after sales service and repairs.

I'd enjoy a 3D printer but I dont know if I'd be able to keep it level because I live on a narrowboat. The boat rocks a little when other boats go by and depending where and how everything is loaded into the boat it often sits slightly differently in the water.
This will be a big boon to your models Wayne.
I'd like to see you print a Cobra Mk 3 from Elite Dangerous.

Nice printer but looks expensive. Did you say somewhere that the filament loads onto the back as it would be useful to include this into your video. If it’s so heavy though maybe it would be an idea for it to sit on a lockable turntable so you can turn it around easier for changing.

Very informative video. Does the 52cm include the filament box on the back of the printer? I really like the features and price of this machine but space is at a premium in my shop. Thank you again for a great introduction to this printer.

With all these machines that are so fast I have a concern that they'll wear out faster, and you can't work on these like you can an ender.

Got to say, Wayne, that the "kiddy slicer" is probably not the best name for a product 🤔😀

I owned a X-Plus for over 2 years before buying the Plus 3. Since it's arrival, I've been troubleshooting with QIDI almost non-stop, trying to get my X-Plus 3 to function properly. This machine has been a huge FAIL for me. So far, I have produced ONE good part from this machine, the rest are garbage - all from the same roll of PLA that my X-Plus used to produce consistently good parts. My older X-Plus would make very good parts from ABS with ease (as well as PLA). In addition to poor quality results, at the end of every part, the machine runs the extruder nozzle into the part, knocking it off the build plate. Even their g-code file for flow rate calibration is a fail. When it has finished making the test parts, their code rams the nozzle tip into the last part and drags the tip through the material. QIDI doesn't have an answer other than repeating the line that I should install the latest firmware - which was done at the start of all this. I gave my X-Plus away so I am now stuck with this POS. Not a happy customer.

Question for you. I just got this printer on Wednesday. I updated to firmware 2.4.8 and can no longer set the Z offset. I'm working with Qidi but wondering if you successfully updated the firmware?

Are you sure that's a 3d printer? Without your glasses haven't you mistaken it for a microwave?

32 minutes for a benchy. That just doesn't seem that good compared to other new high speed printers.
