Thrawn Actor Gives Disappointing Update For The Ahsoka Live-Action Series

It is only a matter of time until the fan-favorite Grand Admiral makes his way into live-action. Unfortunately, Danish actor Lars Mikkelsen shared some news that will disappoint many Star Wars fans.

Thrawn was created for the beloved Heir to the Empire EU trilogy by writer Timothy Zahn. However, Dave Filoni has since taken Zahn’s character into animation in Star Wars Rebels.

In the animated tv series, Thrawn is voiced by actor Lars Mikkelsen and has not been seen since Ezra captured him and sent them both into unknown regions. Despite not being sighted since, he has been mentioned in other Star Wars projects.

Ahsoka’s introduction in The Mandalorian is most notable when she asks where Thrawn is, teasing the huge role that the Grand Ahsoka’sis set to play.

However, when Thrawn makes the leap to live-action in Ahsoka, the Grand Admiral could need to find a new voice to help bridge the gap.

I'm possitively flabbergasted, and as a fellow dane also kinda gutted. It doesn't make sense to me, he actually looks like Thrawn given he's tall and slender, and he sounds EXACTLY like how I imagined him when reading through the first Timothy Zann Thrawn trilogy. To me hiring him as Thrawn for live action is an absolute no brainer. They're shooting themselves in the foot with this imo.

Well, Mikkelsen is a white dude which obviously will be a wee bit problematic to some. Don't think they'll go as far as to transgenderify Thrawn though, even if that'd be a very brave move indeed. As far as I'm concerned they should not hold back at all. Just have at it and make Thrawn the love child of a Tie Crawler and a Dactillion. This is the way.

Christian Bale would be an amazing Thrawn but Ahsoka is filmed and the editing is at the end so it's him. There's just one Thrawn. Not like the Gran Inquisitor.... that was a disapointment in live action!
