How to Install Samba for File Sharing on Ubuntu Server

Hi everyone,

In this video I'll show you how to setup two File Sharing Folders over the Network using SAMBA on Ubuntu Server. I'll use Ubuntu Desktop, Windows 10 and MACOS as clients to demonstrate remote connection the the public and private share folders.
In the process we will manage samba service, folders, users, permissions and ufw fireall on Ubuntu Server 20.04.

You can learn more about Ubuntu Server on my other videos.

Thanks!

Regards,
Rodrigo Matias

Thanks for this tutorial!
At first glance, before editing the smb.conf file, you should've made a backup of that file, just in case.

Are you using virtual machines to test Samba?

I tried all steps from starting till end, but cannot make it work. For me on windows it says "Windows cannot access \\<ip>". I am using a test server from DigitalOcean. I installed Nginx on the server and easily I can access via IP. But the samba access is not working.
Can anyone help?
