My problem is I had a dell computer in which, the HD crashed so I replaced the HD and installed a fresh copy of Windows 8.1. when I tried to activate the new install it failed to activate and I received an error code 0xc004c060 activation server determined the specific product key has been blocked. I ran the suggested fix and got a successful install message. I tried to activate the new software again but it failed and I receive the same error message as mentioned above. is there anything that can be done or do I need to contact dell's service center? Thank you

So what if windows 8 comes preinstalled on my computer, I don't know what the product key is and i get this error? I contacted microsoft they told me to contact the manufacturer. I contacted asus they told me it was microsoft fault i might need to contact them. I'm really confused.

i am staying with no one hair trying and trying and tryin 4 days to activate this windows 8... no one code no one /ato no one /skms works anymore... i am staying insane.with all this... help

This works for abt a day...the transluscent activate windows still comes back.about every other time I turn on the pc. Gotta be something missing in the instructions.

it says the key has been installed successfully but in the PC setting it still says activate windows and i cannot personalize my PC because of it.
