A lot of Americans use clothes lines, even if they have a dryer. Less electricity usage, and in the summer, the clothes smell WONDERFUL.

Many Americans still use clotheslines. Its mainly a rural thing. We especially use them when camping, but we usually bring our own and just tie it to trees. I have a dog runner that I use especially for this task. Dog runners make great make-shift clotheslines. When I need to dry a few items inside I just use a hanger and hang the items on the shower curtain rod in the bathroom.

Get a coffee press. That way you can make your coffee however you want it. I'm partial to flavored creamers myself which you can grab at the grocery store when you buy the coffee. The press doesn't require electricity to use either. I have a large one i use all the time. I buy the coffee beans and use a grinder.

YES!! This is great news to hear you're planning to come back to Palm Springs!! Born and raised. Don't forget to hike the Tahquitz Creek trails. There are waterfalls and you can swim in the water below if you're brave enough haha. The water is very cold as it drips down the San Jacinto mountain from the snowcaps. Speaking of snowcaps, also visit the tramway. The views from the top of the mountain are amazing.

Also, I recommend mid March to mid May for visiting.. best chances of avoiding the cloudy windy winter days as well as the sweltering heat of summer.

Vitamin D does not come from the Sun, so your clothes will not be absorbing it. It is synthesized in the body or consumed from outside sources. Sunlight promotes this synthesis, so standing in the sunlight while hanging out the clothes would provide you with more Vitamin D through this synthesis process.

Also, my Mom used clotheslines when I was a kid in the 60s & 70s. The conveniences of using a clothes dryer made clotheslines much less popular over time, but we still sell the line & pins even today.
BTW, those conveniences include:
•Not needing to dress for the outdoors. Of course, you could run clotheslines indoors. (not as fresh.)
•No concerns about weather conditions. You could dry your clothes during a thunderstorm.
•Ability to dry clothes day or night. Great if you get behind on the wash or work odd hours.
•Can add scents, softeners & static control through dryer sheets & dryer balls.
Most negatives would involve expense; initial purchase, electricity usage, maintenance & repair, etc.
You also have to remember to clean the filter screen after one or two loads.

Memphis crime rate is very high. Check with the hotel people before you go somewhere. Be sure and visit Bass Pro

Anyone can use a clothes line, whether in an apartment or country. We also have indoor drying rack furniture as well.

If and when you guys make it to the East Coast again, and feel like a walk in the woods, you may want to check out the Appalachian Trail or AT for short, it's almost 2200 miles long starting in Georgia and ending in Maine, about 3 million people visit it annually and about 3, 000 actually complete the entire hike each year which normally takes about 6 months, Molly Rose outdoors is doing a daily vlog right now as she walks the trail, she's almost on day 90 and past the half way point a few days ago.

Hi guys ! Really happy you are having a great trip back home to America !
Sincerely we miss you and wish you lived here at least half the year.
My wife and I live in Anaheim, 6 to 7 minutes from Disneyland and Angels baseball stadium.
We know Newport and Laguna beaches are expensive for lodging but maybe try Huntington Beach, just north of Newport Beach. Probably more affordable and only a few minutes drive from Newport. The entire coastline from Orange County down to San Diego is the California Riviera. Awesome beaches, great beach towns, great restaurants, and totally gorgeous.
The drive from Huntington Beach south on Pacific Coast Highway is awesome and scenic.
We love Palm Desert just east of Palm Springs. Golf, shops, restaurants, and residential homes. Go when it's warm not with summer heat.
For shopping go to El Paseo and our favorite restaurant is Sherman's Deli. Totally New York Deli, with big bakery display case. Huge NYC deli sandwiches, I'm not a big potato salad eater but their's is yummy ! There are 2 locations, first is in downtown Palm Springs, it get's a lot busier. The Palm Desert location is easier. It's at Country Club and Monterey cross streets in far east end of Bristol Farms shopping center.
Enjoy being home !
We Love You Guys !!!!

Lots of HOAs won’t permit clothes lines. We set up our own clothes lines when camping.

When Hotel del Coronado opened in 1888, it was the largest resort hotel in the world. The architectural style is late Victorian, Queen Anne. It has hosted presidents, royalty and celebrities and featured in films. It is the second largest wooden structure in the US. In 1904 it featured the world's first electrical lighted outdoor living Christmas tree. The tree is still on the plaza in front of the hotel.
