Are Epson EcoTank Printers Worth the Money?
Should YOU buy an Epson EcoTank printer?
The Epson inkjet Ecotank are printers that, unlike traditional inkjet printers that use cartridges, come with large, refillable ink bottles that hold significantly more ink, allowing users to print thousands of pages before needing a refill. But are they convenient?
Or is a normal printer with the four cartridges better?

I have had an Epson Ecotank 2550 for a number of years. At first it worked pretty well. The ink is cheap BUT then came the problems with clogging the print heads. You run through the clean cycle 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 times and get improvement but as time goes on, the improvement gets less and less. Then the waste ink tank "fills up" and the improvement is even less (even if you change out the pad in the waste ink tank). This week I am tossing it (with unused ink bottles) and moving to a laser printer. Fingers crossed.

Both are a theft. Just get an old printer which uses chipless cartridges. You can get 3rd party ink cartridges for ~1Eur when buying in bulk (~20 cartridges). I am still using the cartridges I bought ~10 years ago for 10Eur and I still have around half of them.
