Chancellor 'disappointed' with UK economic growth

Chancellor Rachel Reeves has admitted the latest economic data is disappointing but insists her policies will deliver long-term growth for the UK economy.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed output fell 0.1% last month, following the 0.1% decline recorded for September.

The chancellor took the “difficult” decision to give massive pay rises to the public sector in return for zero efficiency gains and dumped a massive tax on the private sector, while increasing the cost of borrowing, or at least delaying its fall. She now claims she is surprised the economy didn’t grow, really should have stayed in the complaints department.
