MP: Sunak Is 'Literally the Worst Person' to Be Leading UK

Rishi Sunak "is literally the worst person to be leading this country through a cost-of-living crisis," says Labour's Chris Bryant, urging the prime minister to "stop lecturing" people. The prime minister says he's doing "the right thing" to support families

Sunak risks failing against the very promises he told voters to judge him by.

At the beginning of January, the premier set five pledges he said would be the test of his performance. They were to halve inflation, grow the economy, reduce the national debt, shrink National Health Service waiting lists and stop migrants crossing the English Channel.

“I fully expect you to hold my government and I to account on delivering those goals,” Sunak said.

But six months on, inflation is proving sticky, recession is becoming more likely, and debt has risen, leading Bank of America Corp. strategists to characterize the UK as the “stagflationary sick man of Europe.” Meanwhile, hospital waiting lists are at a record and boats full of migrants continue to land on England’s shores.

I’m from the UK and Sunak is the worst PM in living memory. He’s a closet socialist who, instead of using his high tax policies for good, seems to be using it as a way to to tax the poorest and syphon the wealth back up to the top. He also seems to completely lack any kind of plan, and just seems to drift along with is high tax big state socialist policies, whilst occasionally panicking and lurching over to the populist right. Liz Truss did more in her short time in power than he did in his first year. Sunak has pioneered the driverless government
