Madness were a breath of fresh air in the troubled 80's. Thanks for keeping the music alive.

Baked beans on toast is the best. It;s a proper British working class breakfast. This song is a love letter to working class family life in Britain, especially in the seventies and eighties.

You don't have to be English to appreciate the lyrics. "...Our mum she's so house-proud. Nothing ever slows her down and a mess is not allowed". That was Mom, for sure. ✌😆🍻

You are the only one that actually understands the song, thank you, I love you (from England)

Not siblings but all working class North Londoners who grew up around each other, from the same backgrounds. I like this song it's a celebration of working class family bonds and pride in your family and your community - something we need more than ever now!

"One Step Beyond" is a banger from Madness. I got to see them at Bond's in NYC. It was the moment I learned to let go and dance my asp off.

this song became a hit when it came out, especially on Canadian radio and video TV shows of the time. It's a great song that I still enjoy listening to today.

He was asking “have you seen our house” at the start of the video.

It's amazing how nostalgic that I get over this song which is indeed very much about nostalgia. Summer of 83 was just incredible and so many various styles of music taking place. Love your reaction! You look beautiful and Merry Christmas!!!

It just makes me think of home. Makes me think I have alot in common with my Brit Brothers and Sisters. God bless ya Maddy. Youre a fine young lady.

Madness were absolutely HUGE in the UK in the early/mid 80s. Loads of Number 1s.
Guy at the start is saying 'Have you seen our house?' (pronounced like 'arr ouse')

From the moment I heard this song back in the 80s I was into it. I need to find it and add it to my flashdrive play list when I drive around. I like the energy and the song is just plain fun. Music is music and from a guy who is straight outta Compton, this was one of my jams.

Madness was a great ska band. If you're not familiar with ska - it's a fusion of reggae and British pop. There were underground ska scenes in the UK in the late 70s and it spread to the US by the early 80's. Other great ska bands include: The Specials, The English Beat, Bad Manners, Selecter, and for a cool American ska band - try the Kyber Rifles. Thanks for your reactions - I always enjoy them.
