I don’t care how broke I get I’m buying the good toilet paper

I am with George on them. Some are just over the line or more trouble than they are worth. Some people just see it as a badge to save a penny.

Being frugal isn’t bad, being cheap is very bad

This isn't frugality. Buy quality that is within your budget.

Don't live in a HOA, that will save a lot of money.

These were decidedly being cheap, not being frugal. Being frugal is being wise with your money, but not compromising your time, health, dignity or quality of life in doing so. Being cheap is spending as little as possible at all cost without regard for your time, health etc. The only one I do from this list is cut my own hair, I work outdoors in the trades and wear a hat a lot anyway, and can do a pretty decent job myself with hair clippers and it takes me just a few min once a month. If I go to a wedding or something fancy I’ll gladly pay for a haircut though

My great-grandparents had their basement carpeted in shag carpet squares that were originally samples. It was very colorful and as a child I LOVED it. It was essentially a family room for larger gatherings, not in the main part of their house.

Some of these "frugal" people have serious psychological issues.

“What are you looking for in someone’s trash?!”

Deodorant butts and unused sections of toilet paper.

Confession:
We moved into our new house a few years back and just months after being here, a flashlight fell out of an over toilet cabinet and broke the tank lid.
It was like $60+ to replace it but it was in the master so no one was going to see it, so I let it go. Finally recently, it was bulk trash day and a neighbor had their toilet in bulk trash. Same toilet as mine… w a perfectly good tank lid.
I told my husband “STOP THE TRUCK!” And I jumped out without explaining hoping no neighbors would see me taking a toilet tank lid… just then, a couple of walkers came around the corner just in time to see me jumping in the truck w the toilet tank lid LOL

Love this segment. It's hilarious. Cristina and George should do more of these. Love watching George's face when she told him some of these frugal things. George's reaction was the best on these. LOL

Umm... major thrift stores DON'T launder donated clothes, people. You have to wash everything you take home! I mean, it would be great if you knew everyone was donating stuff after it comes out of the dryer - but odds are, there are folks who take stuff off after wearing it and throw it in the donate pile rather than washing it. I work one day a week at a thrift store as a side hustle and get that question from time to time. HARD NO.

Come on! Deodorant is $1.25 at Dollar Tree.

Almost every example she gave was shown on TLC's Extreme Cheapskates. I remember the family who went and got those carpet samples bc they were trying to sell their house!

You'd be shocked what gets thrown away. Things you can use, things you can fix and use, things you can fix and sell or just clean up and sell.

Use washable cloth & dish towels, instead of buying paper towels.
