A thrifty Ohio bride paid less than $12 for her dream wedding outfit. Bride Jillian Lynch bought her satin wedding dress with a thigh-high slit for $3.75 at a local thrift store. She also only spent $8 on her wedding shoes. Lynch says she plans on re-wearing both the dress and shoes.

Stores increase the prices of stuff that is advertised as bridal only for marketing. You can buy a white dress and say you just want a white dress and you'll get it for cheaper than if you buy the same dress but advertized as bridal. Same thing with make up and hairstyles.
When my sister got married, the salon asked if the make up and hair was for a guest or the bride. As soon as she said she was the bride, they made the cost more expensive just because she was the bride, not because they were going to add anything different or extra. If you want to save money for your wedding, shop as if you were a guest, not the bride. You'll get cheaper deals.
