iPhone X vs Google Pixel 2 XL: When software wins! | Pocketnow

Apple considers its iPhone X to be the future of the smartphone. Google defines its Pixel 2 XL as an answer to asking more of your phone. It's hard to declare a winner between my two favorite phones of 2017. This is not really an argument of iOS vs Android, because these phones are about so much more than their operating systems. This is more about which phone does what best, and if I had to pick only one, well, prepare to be shocked. This is iPhone X vs Google Pixel 2 XL.

Having used both, I can safely say the Pixel is by far the better phone. It may not have all the party tricks like a Samsung but it also doesn't have lag at all. Plus battery life is amazing.

Proper, front facing speakers = Pixel.

A goddamn fingerprint scanner = Pixel

Fast charging COMES WITH THE DEVICE = Pixel
Better calling = Pixel
Project Fi (best service) = Pixel
Two unnecessary cameras = iPhone
Unnecessary price = iPhone
Wireless charging = iPhone.

After using 3 iPhones as well as the best of Motorola, Samsung, and LG, I was always left wondering what experiences I was missing by picking what I did . I have always felt as if I had been using someone else's ideal phone, and there was a feeling of my phone being more like a step-child than belonging to me.

All that changed when I turned on the Pixel 2XL. It's amazing how the phone feels like it knows me. It feels like I am at home, like I have finally found love.

I have both and feel EXACTLY the same. The Pixel has much more fluid and enjoyable software (iOS 11 is hot garbage) and the camera software is simply amazing. However, I LOVE my Apple Watch 3 and do enjoy the smaller form factor overall of the X. Both are GREAT phones, but the Pixel 2 XL just feels better overall because of the software.
