Also, just because PAUL didn't baptize, doesn't mean they weren't or shouldn't have been baptized, or even that it could be delayed till much later. If we look at the account of what he's referring to in Acts, this is what we find:

Acts 18:8 (ESV): 8 Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, together with his entire household. *And many of the Corinthians hearing Paul believed and were baptized.*

Belief was immediately tied to baptism, it just wasn't Paul physically doing it.

I thought the reason Paul was glad he didn't baptize people is because the Corinthians were trying to gain status with each other by means of who baptized them.

That’s an interesting interpretation! Gives me food for thought!

The rhetorical question Paul posed in verse 13, 'Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?' is easily answered: Christ is not divided; He is one. Jesus is the only one crucified for us, and we were baptized in His name, the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38).

Verses 14 and 15 are straightforward to understand and verse 17: 'For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel.'

Of course, how would anyone get baptized without first hearing the Gospel? So, he preaches, and others handle the baptizing. This verse doesn't diminish the importance of baptism, as some wrongly believe.

I agree that baptism is necessary for salvation, but it must be done in the only saving name, just as the Bible prescribes (Acts 2:38). Paul is clear that neither the preachers nor the baptizers save you; only Christ, in whose name you are baptized.

I was baptized as an infant in 1954 and was unchurched growing up. At my baptism, Christ claimed me as his own. In my teens I could not have told you if Paul was in the Old or New Testament. Due to friends, I joined Mormonism when I was 18. Eventually in my middle age, the Holy Spirit called me through the Gospel into Christianity. I thank my parents for giving me the gift of the sacrament of baptism even though they did not understand that it was more than a cultural thing one did for one’s kids.

Never cease to blow my mind!
I'm convinced on baptismal regeneration through your videos. But I still am a credobaptist and a convinced one at that too. Just wondering if there is any Christian tradition that affirms both credobapstim and baptismal regeneration?

How can someone believe in justification by faith alone and baptismal regeneration at the same time? It makes no sense to me. Are you saved the moment you believe or the moment you are baptized according to this view?

I believe that it is essential in understanding Pauls' letters to understand that they are written to already saved believers.
Each letter begins with the greeting, "..to the saints of..".These are not evangelistic letters to lead seekers to salvation or a continuation of some type of progression of the gospel message from the book of Acts.
Taking all this into account, the saints Paul is addressing in his letters could only have been previously saved according to Acts 2:38.
As a matter of fact, Paul himself leads the disciples he encountered in Acts ch. 19 to salvation according to Acts 2:38.

In 1 Corinthians 1:17-19 there is no absolute denial of baptism, but as in the case of John 6:29. There Christ asks not to work for earthly food but also for the imperishable. But there we must add the adverb "only" because otherwise we would have Jesus ordering not to work contrary to Paul who commanded to Work in 2 Thessalonians 3:10.

In the same way, Christ did not command only to baptize but to preach the gospel because if it is not so, we have Paul in the sin of disobedience. Christ orders Paul not to baptize and he disobeys him by baptizing people. Total madness!
How is it that the rest of the apostles were commanded to baptize and the bishops ordained by Paul could also baptize but poor Paul did not have the right to baptize?

Obviously this type of reasoning of those who deny baptism as a sacrament will lead to absurdity.

This is actually seems to align with many teachers today (including false teachers).
And social media and the internet is rife with problems. People want to follow after the most popular new trend.

Great to hear this - verse 24 was puzzling me.

If baptism regeneration is true, then one might want to ask how people were regenerated before baptism. Abraham was regenerated, yet he was neither baptised or circumcised at the time. He is the greater example used in the NT. How was he saved? It was through faith. This was, is, and always will be the way.

Not a bad response but the fact remains that Paul stated "For Christ sent me not to baptise but to preach the gospel" so he clearly distinguishes baptism from the gospel. So although it may be true that Paul had personal reasons for not wanting to baptise ultimately he links it with the will of christ and its distinction from the gospel.
We also still have the fact that neither Paul nor anyone else EVER baptized in the triune name but only in the one name AND that Paul's last epistles Ephesians and Colossians indicate the irrelevance of baptism for this dispensation/age

1 Corinthians disproves this as well as every verse teaching justification by faith

Baptism is outward statement Jesus was baptized by John did it make Jesus any greater NO it was example for us to fallow HIM. Corrithians were exulting baptism ahead of faith in Jesus the Christ.

One verse or paragraph never proves anything. That’s not how Biblical Hermeneutics works.
