Megohmmeters, sometimes called meggers. But correct name is mega ohm meter or Insulation tester. And megger is one of the Insulation tester manufacturer name. so don’t confuse.

A megohmmeter is an electric meter that measures very high resistance values by sending a high voltage signal into the insulators being tested.

It provides quick and easy way to determine the condition of the insulation on wire, generators, and motor windings
This mega ohm meter build in direct-current generator.

When making an insulation resistance test, a high DC voltage is applied to the conductor under test and the resulting current flow is measured.
