My youngest brother and his wife (in their early 30's) traveled for an entire year around the world. They decided to visit countries during their major cultural events and holidays so that they can better understand what makes a nation or civilization unique (e.g. a nation's values, social and political organization). He later applied this knowledge as a 10 year mayor of Jersey City in his effort to turn that city around. BTW ... he also got many great pictures to enhance memories of a great time.

I'm right behind you but I'll be traveling for retirement indefinitely! Had the kids, house (already sold) and career, now it's time to start over. The wife and I are in our mid 50's and we'll travel slowly. Probably one month in an area at a time. But we have no timetable to finish. We can't wait either. Enjoy it!
