India isn't in strategic triangle with China. Infact the main reason India isn't taking sharp position in this conflict is because India wants Russia to remain neutral in future China India conflict. Weakened and isolated Russia will be a client State of china. This dragon bear alliance would seal the fate of Asia no matter what India and Japan do. Therefore India is staying neutral in this conflict.

The analisys is incomplete until you add that
1China buys a lot of Saudi oil,
2 that oil is shipped thru the Malacca strait
3 India has placed considerable military in the Nicobar and Andaman Islands that guard the entrance to the Malacca strait
4 Indonesia has allowed India to operate from a base in Sabang, closing the net
5 China is not happy that a major oil supply lane is under India's surveillance, and possible control

The "skirmishes" for territory that no one cares in the mountains are a sideshow. The Indians are buying the russian oil to stop China from taking it.

1:48 India doesn't claim Kashmir. They don't need to do that. Kashmir was Indian from 1947 itself. Pakistan and China have illegally taken up their land.

This dynamic is the pinnacle of the term 'frenemies'. In politics/geopolitics, there is no such thing as friends, just interests.

Correction: the 1971 Deal between India & Russia was mostly due to US being a Pakistan ally. In the Indo-Pak of ‘71, US, UK brought their navies to the Indian Ocean to choke Indian navy and support Pakistan. So India signed a deal with the Soviets for mutual understanding & USSR navy protecting India in case any 3rd party interferes. This was the major reason.
NOT BECAUSE OF CHINA really. The west has a problem in acknowledging the fact that it supported a terrorist, Human tight violator state of Pakistan who conducted atrocities on Bangladesh.

Hats off to India. They are in the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue which is an anti-Chinese block, and this new "Triangle" which is essentially an anti-US block. I'm not sure how many other countries could pull that off.

This ignores the geopolitics of the Asian continent and views a matter that is entirely Asian in nature through the lenses of Ukraine. India will never enter into any "alliance" with China, even saying that they're "frenemies" is stretching it. India and China have remained quiet over the issue in Ukraine, yes because they have some stake in Russia, but mostly because they have no horse in the race. It's a European war and Asia does not care about it. Europe has not cared about any Asian war since the days of Vietnam, with the genocide in Bangladesh still not being tried in the Hague and the perpetrators of multiple genocides in South East Asia living out their lives in peace.

Why should Asia care? China and India do not care to curry favour from the West and are capable economies. The West relies on food imports from India, China and South East Asia and it would take at least 2-3 years (based on crop cycles alone) to replace that dependence. China and India, best described as mortal enemies, simply don't care

Pretty good analysis as an Indian this war has shown us that you just can not depend on other countries hardware for defence, That's why many defence deal have been given to India company so that indian defence industries could thrive

India has been criticizing the war since start, we just haven't taken a hostile position against russia like the west because of our dependency & relations with russia

Highly unlikely. India working with China is just not going to happen. India and Russia do not border, and Russia has a history of being incapable of directing assisting its overseas allies that do not directly border it.

A very loose alliance. India and China don't really get along with each other and they still have constant skirmishes in their disputed border. China and Russia also aren't that keen on each other. China has indirectly before that they would like to take back Vladvostok which they call Hǎishēnwăi and China is pretty pissed on Russia's influence in the Central Asia, a place where China wants to develop its One Belt One Road project, specially Kazakhstan. Only India and Russia seems more trust on one another.

The US and West should shift their relationship priority from the PRC to India.

India's military spending on Russian equipment has significantly come down under the Modi government, sitting around 40% right now.

The first option of India using West to counter balance China is the best option, and that is were India is heading for

I think India is also looking at the Ukraine invasion and wondering if their investment in Russian military hardware was actually a good idea.

I’ve got to hand it to India, they are very flexible from a diplomatic perspective. The US consistently missed the boat with them in my opinion. The worlds largest democracy and a former colony of the same previous overlord seems like a natural fit. Plus I don’t really see any major strategic interests that conflict between us. Why we chose to lean toward Pakistan in previous decades makes no sense to me at all. China won Pakistan in the end anyways.

Arunachal Pradesh is not a disputed place. It's like if tomorrow Mexico says to US that Texas or California is disputed!

‘Few’ countries support India on Kashmir? India was ready to hold a plebiscite in 1948 as long as the conditions of the UN resolution were met. It was Pakistan which refused to abide by the UN resolution by which time Jammu and Kashmir had firmly and legally become Indian territory. Moreover, the founding principle of India was opposite to the founding principle behind Pakistan and Indians will NEVER let go off that founding principle (despite some religious disturbances seen in recent times).
