Corn Harvest 2022 has started

In this video I am out in the field with Brier Farms from Attica Indiana as they are getting started with the 2022 corn harvest. In this video you will see the farms John Deere S680 combine with a 24 row Calmer model 2415 corn head and running in the field is their Deere 9630T tractor pulling a Brent 1282 grain cart on tracks. The corn was testing 28-30% moisture.

Great footage as always Mike. Calmer makes some great products for farmers. You can get their kits for stock corn heads without the maintenance and hp loss of a chopping head. Really chews up the stalks for breakdown and gain combine performance with less stalk intake increasing speed and cleaning. Thanks mike!

Thanks for the video Mike. That Calmer corn head does a nice job. Haven't seen any Calmers around me. Maybe they will become more popular in time. Awesome drone footage as always Mike.👍🏻👍🏻

I see their trucks all the time when we are hauling waxy to Lafayette. Stop by sometime, Mike, if we're running when you're around!

If I were them, I'd keep combining. Warm weather and dry fields. A little extra dryer gas is way better than fighting mud and rainy weather. No dryer gas shortage in September.

Good video Mike, looked like good weather to be doing corn, also looks like that corn would be perfect moisture to just keep going wouldn't be surprised if that's what they do too keep up the good work. Dave D.

Little green and moist for shelling I'd think. More like chopping conditions for earlage. Thanks for the video Mike, something a bit unique for sure.

Is there a significant advantage with the 15 inch rows? I guess for corn silage it would be maybe but strictly for grain? I know they know what they are doing, I'm just trying to figure out what kind of advantage it is. Great video as always Mike.

What is the benefit of harvesting the corn early, plants still partially green, versus waiting until the corn is drier on the plant?
