Ingredients

Hakka Noodles - 300 Gms
Garlic
Onion - 1 no. (thinly sliced)
Green Chili - 1 no. (finely chopped)
Carrot - 1 no. (cut into julienne)
Cabbage - 1 bowl (shredded)
Yellow Bell Pepper - 1/2 no. (thinly sliced)
Red Bell Pepper - 1/2 no. (thinly sliced)
Green Capsicum - 1/2 no. (thinly sliced)
Spring Onion Whites
Spring Onion Greens
Water

Method
1. For the noodles to cook – take a pan, add enough water, add some salt as required and add Hakka noodles.
2. Once its 90% cooked take it off the flame and strain it, add some oil so that it won't stick to each other.
3. Take a pan, add sesame oil, some finely chopped garlic, onion and green chili.
4. Now start adding vegetables like carrot , shredded cabbage, yellow red and green bell pepper, some spring onion whites. (You can add other vegetables of your choice too)
5. Then add vinegar, soy sauce, red chili sauce, green chili sauce and pepper powder.
6. Finally, add the cooked noodles and toss it all together. Stir fry the noodles for 10 mins.
7. Check for seasoning and add salt if required.
8. Garnish it with some spring onion greens.
9. Serve the Chili Garlic Noodles hot.

I made these noodles without any vegetables but just cabbage. And added haldi-mircha powder and it turned out to be great. My mom liked it for the first time made by me. And I loved it too.❤️

3 things that can help finesse this dish:

1. Once you take the noodles off the heat - rinse with room temp water to stop the cooking, otherwise you might end up with soft noodles (then add the oil)

2. Don’t use Chinese sesame oil as your base oil, use a vegetable oil to fry off your noodles and use the sesame oil after mixing the noodles so you get the toasty sesame flavour

3. I’d personally cook the garlic till it just starts turning golden brown - that gives you a toasted garlic flavour. (Don’t leave it on too long after that since it goes from toasted to burnt pretty soon!)

I made a Really Good One too!
I used - 1 Onion, 6-7 cloves garlic, around 2 mutthi bhar Tops Noodles, 2 TableSpoon Mustard Oil, 1 Green Chilli, 1/2 Table Spoon Tops Vinegar & 1/2 TableSpoon Tops Black Soya Sauce. 1 Spring Onion Head. 1 TableSpoon Salt at Last Before Serving. All vegetables Very thinly Sliced by Me 😇

I like it! Could I give you a suggestion, one cook to another - after cooking the noodles, rinse it well with cold water. It’ll eliminate all stickiness from the noodles.

I'm from Toronto where there's a Hakka restaurant on every corner but now I live in Ottawa and there is not a single Hakka restaurant in sight! I miss this cooking so much. I'm going to attempt this tonight as Toronto comfort food. Thanks so much for these recipes :)

First time looking at this channel and I just made this. OMYGOODNESS! This was so incredible !!! I couldn't find haaka noodles so I used Angel hair pasta, added onion, and garlic powder and used sweet chilli sauce instead of regular chilli. This is fantastic and so healthy!!! Definitely subbing!!! Thank you!

Tried this with ham in addition and since I wasn't able to get bell peppers of yellow and red, I stuck with 3 green! Turned out to be really yum! Thanks a bunch
