The KORG KPR-77 is a programmable analog rhythm box. Fill In, DIN sync, TRIG OUT jacks and other nice features. It competed with the Roland TR-606. It has a tape interface built in, so you could save your grooves on tape.

In the intro I played the Korg KPR-77 with a small amout of ambience from Lexicon MPX-500.

Really wish people would realize the KPR-77 is what Korg Volca Beats was an homage to, not the 808. The snare does exactly that it's supposed to.

Just scored one for $50 in excellent shape. Can't wait for it to get here! It was kind of a no-brainer at that price but I still listened to this video before pulling the trigger and it made me go from, "I've never seen one of those, but I'm sure that's a fantastic deal" to "Why am I wasting my time?! I've got to buy this now!!!"

My favourite clap sound of any drum machine.

After 10 years of being a gear junkie, why am I just hearing about this amazing machine? Sounds great, and those claps sound more jeff mills than jeff mills' 909. Would love to hear a bass line under this

Great drum machine! I have 2 of them. And 2 Korg KMS-30 to synchronize it via DIN sync at 48 PPQN.

My friend lent me one in the 80s and I really didn't want to give the machine back. I ended up with a 606 but wanted a 77 instead tbh.

Has anyone the tape factory presets as an audio file ?

Mine has super worn buttons. That makes it frustrating to program. But overall I like it a lot. Especially paired with the Arpeggio of the PolySix.

The sound reminds me a lot of the Boss Dr.110, does anyone else think so?

That's neat.
It does sound like an older machine for it's era. It must be the limitations of the circuitry.
I like how rough it can sound at parts. The cymbals are the machines strongest parts. I could use a few of those drum samples for something.... It's a neat drum machine.

If only they took the sound board of the KR-55 and added the programmer...
The 55 sounds so much better

Не совсем понятно почему собственно аналоговая?

I hate the flam on the toms and BD is useless but dem Korg hats man. Almost as good as the KR-55 hats. Snare of KR-55 is better too. KPR-77 has 2 trigger outs on the rubbish toms so they are useful but let’s be honest it’s a right tosspot to programme. Then there’s the double note entries. It is reliable though.
