There is this beautiful comic "All things considered" that has a shorts voiceover on YouTube. Puss has lived a long, fulfilling, happy life. Married with a kids and everything. Old Puss was just chilling on the bed, and then he heard the whistle, but wasn't afraid. And when Death (Straight Up) came, he sat on the bed and, asked Puss to tell him about his life.

Dunno why people be fretting with PiB's Death. He literally says what he is. Ain't no way around it. If your character can die, why even ask, it's clear who wins.

That does nicely explain why “Death” is apparently subservient to Dracula in all of the games. I was always like “shouldn’t it be the other way around?”

Yeah, honestly. What's interesting though is that in the game series, Death *is* actually conceptually death. He's referred to as the "Absolute Presence" and the "Overwhelming existence" of the concept in a few different sources. So in a way -- OG castlevania game series Death is the Same as Puss in Boots Death.

Fun fact, recently saw a short explaining that during the bar scene puss actually hits death right in the face with his initial attack. There is a frame with his sword going right through death's head but obviously that doesn't work against the literal reaper
