Here in California a few weeks ago it was around 100-110 degrees for about two weeks give it take a day or two. They advised people not to charge their vehicles from I believe it was 4pm-9pm. And we still have rolling blackouts. So they need to build a lot more power plants if they expect to have people charge constantly and also for people who live in apartments need a power source.

People worrying about range is not because they gonna suddenly run out of power, is because of charging. The average person doesn't own a home with a garage to charge their car so that will force them to go to places for charging and charging is not 5 minutes like filling a tank of gas.
EVs are expensive to repairs because if you are in an accident or need repairs you cannot DIY or take to a local shop, you must go to the dealer.

Wrong buddy, range is totally limited. At least gas power cars can bring canisters full of fuel if they are going where no gas station is located. How can you charge a car in the middle of nowhere? Total trash talk.

Also when an ev gets to 6 or 7 years old they will have no resale value coz the battery will be worn out from thousands of charges!!

I used to be a doubter until my wife and I got our first EV, a 2021 Tesla model 3. We then got a ford Mach E. Now with over 20, 000 miles on the model 3 and 30, 000 miles on the Mach E, we are very happy with our decision. Excellent vehicles, and yes we have road tripped with both. Charging does about 30 minutes every 150 miles and we time it with a meal stop or a restroom break.

Can a charger station for a Tesla be used to charge the battery of any EV? I am thinking about getting a Volt or Civic, but only have a Tesla station near my house. Is there a universal charger or is it car model specific?

One argument you don't hear much is the amount of effort it takes to get petrol to the pump. There's the intial extraction, delivery to refinery, refining process, delivery to central storage, from there to petrol station and finally into your car. All along this process a lot of electricity and diesel is being being burned before it even gets to your car. Then your car starts putting out Co2

I disagree with you I live 250 miles away from the city and it's always a round trip, same day and no rest time, also no charging station, electric vehicles may work in the city but not for people way out in the mountains.

Ev are not a greener car to build. What you read on Google is so wrong. You don't mine cobalt or lithium up to wazoo. All you do is push pollution to a different part of the build

Um, yeah. I can go almost 400 miles on a tank of gas in my 2006 Sienna, in highway driving. And I can refill the tank in only five minutes. Much better for long trips.

Why not quote range for 30% charge. When electric power cost 30% more in just 2022 and that's not includeing State road TAX. Ask Germany hows it's doing on energy.

Think of all the technicians out of work if they ban all gas powered vehicles also on a long trip 500 plus miles which I have driven in a day will take longer in an EV costing more than gas if you need to stay the night in a hotel or two.
