I like these videos of the old mercedes and I just happened to need engine oil for my 2005 Kia Besta 2.7 diesel. I live in Chile but I am also from Holland like the mecanic in of this channel so I understand his sense of humor! I just ordered a 4 liter can of this oil and I am happy to know it slows down wear! It was one of the more affordable choices when it comes t engine oil so I saved money too like Zeeuws Meisjelll Geen cent te veel hoor!!! ☺️☺️🇳🇱🇨🇱🇺🇸

Learned a lot from you Kent. You should do more videos on valve ticking, its a pretty common issue on the v8's.

I am right there with you, Kent, I use Liqui-Moly Molygen in mine. Oil analysis shows engine wear has reduced since using it over the M***L 1 oil, but I also started going by the testing labs recommended oil change interval for my engine based on my analysis, which is less than Mercedes. Instead of 10k we are doing 6k.

I hope to get another 10 years outa the old girl.

I've been using the LiquiMoly 10w40 Super Leichtlauf ( blue canister ) for a long time in my old Benz's. Engine runs noticably more silent. After 6000mi / 1000km oil change intervals the oil still looks quite clean. I would definitely recommend this brand. Here in Europe it costs about the same as any other premium brand oil.

M103 someone was running Castrol 5w30 in the motor.

Swapped to the oil shown in the video.

Oil pressure light stopped coming on, maintaining 1-1.2 bar at hot idle temps
Lifters are much quieter and the engine runs smoother. Will consider using liqui moly in my M113 AMG engine. They make tons of neat products from what I've researched! One even glows in UV light to detect hard to find oil leaks :)

Thanks for the great video, Kent! I have been using LiquiMoly in M113 engines as well since they are also very sensitive to poor oil maintenance and develop valvetrain noise as a result. It makes a huge difference! I love that R107 with the red over tan and euro headlights. Beautiful car!

Liqui moly and fuchs oils are top tiers and I have been using them for years and I convinced many people to follow along

The MoS2 anti-wear works great, reduced noise and general smoother drive with the MoS2 oil. Also getting a reduction in fuel usage.

Thank you Kent for this great video. I had been researching for what type of oil to run in my three Mercedes, Porsche, etc .
It's good that the oil quietens the engine and seals leaks, etc. too

Knew that you used it, but didn't know why. Good explanation.
We used to buy tubes of Molybdenum Disulfide to squeeze into the transaxles of VW Type 2 transporters & buses. It would quiet them down.

in brazil there is an additive roccol asos is practically pure molybdenum disulfide. It is simply the best thing there is.

Somewhen I shall try it. (unfortunately here in Hungary it has approx. 2x higher price than other usual reputable oils of the 10W-40 category) But we love our old cars...

I agree with Kent 100%. Chain ware is to do bad engine oil(lack of oil or poor maintenance of the engine). Liqui Moly I have used in other vehicles(none MB) and despite it maybe a pit spicy on price(depending where you live in the world). It is worth the money and saves your new rebuild or old engine from a lot of problems.

I will support your claims! I haven't used this oil but I have used Liqui Moly's MoS2 additive for years. It goes into my 1992 W140 with an M104 and my E36 with an M43. I have even started adding it to my girlfriend's 2019 Hyundai with a GDI engine, as these have a Molybdenum Disulphide coating on the piston skirts that is prone to wearing off and causing accelerated wear. I feel by adding it to the oil their is a constant supply.
I always notice a more refined running engine (smoother and quieter) to anything I add it to, and also reduced oil and fuel consumption in older, high mileage vehicles.

Back in the late 1970s Atlantic Richfield (Arco) sold an oil called Arco Graphite. Came out of the bottle black like that.

I used 15W-40 MOS2 engine oil following Kent's recommendation and noticed quieter and smoother operation in my OM617 motor following completion of my Auto-RX engine oil treatment. I expect better fuel economy and will report back if so.

I can't claim that it has reduced any oil burning or leaks just yet but will keep an eye on it.
