Sea Ice Collaboration Team May 2022 Meeting

Walt Meier shared how remote sensing provides key variables needed for seasonal sea ice forecasting, including new altimetry products that provide information on thickness. A brief introduction to these products were given, followed by a brief recap of 2021 sea ice and conditions to date in 2022. This was followed by a presentation from Amy Solomon on sea ice forecasting. She gave an update of the dry runs conducted in Spring/Summer 2021 to develop and test flight plans and specific forecast products to support the ARCSIX campaign happening in the Atlantic Arctic in 2024.
