Hi Andy! As a longtime fan of you and Nick, I'm curious to know your thoughts on Nick's recent statements. I saw in a previous reply on this video that you felt it was divisive and drew a line in the sand between EA-sponsored creators and those not affiliated. While I agree that his initial statement was not worded in the best way, I still feel that his intentions were right in what he was saying. I think it was worded harshly out of frustration with the lack of public criticism of EA from said EA partners.

I understand it's not that black and white but it does seem that EA has something akin to a gag order on its partners. That doesn't seem fair to you all as creators because we all know you care about the game/gameplay equally as much but because you're seemingly not allowed to criticize them, it puts you at odds with those who do criticize them. Regarding two of your other points made in that comment to another user (1. Not buying FC points and 2. Uninstalling), I think you're missing the mark of what is frustrating that side of the community.

1. Not buying FIFA points is one thing, and it's something you've stood by for years. You only do it for content because it's your job, not because it's a practical use of money. I think almost all creators are of that opinion. However, the recent Champs rewards debacle highlights this issue for me. It's not so much about buying FC points as it is about the shift away from rewards related to gameplay or from SBC/Objectives to these inflated store packs which are outright predatory. Fair rewards/equal weight would make the game more rewarding as it bridges the gap between gameplay and menus. Yet it's clear that EA does not want these parts of the game to be fair for users as it instead drives them to store packs (highlighted by their massive earnings despite average users and copies sold being markedly down). Being ignorant of the manipulative nature of these packs and dismissing it with "just don't do it" is fairly disingenuous as it blames the victims rather than the root cause of this issue.

2. As for "just uninstall if you don't like it;" that is very blind to a very glaring issue. It's akin to "Oh you're critical of society yet you still participate in it, how interesting." Of course, nobody is forced to play this game but when there's a lack of competitors, it creates a pseudo-monopoly on football games. This point is unlikely to change until the market is saturated with competitors that force EA's hand to make improvements. Furthermore, we're critical of this game and hate the current state that it's in because we know it could be so much better if the community was led by a company that cared about them equally. This dynamic can be seen in countless other AAA titles where the company responsible carefully considers community feedback. The community loves football and wants it to be an enjoyable experience. This same passion is also what drives such negative energy from within, mainly due to the lack of implementation and community consideration when making changes to the game. So while you can be critical without playing the game, it's very difficult to form educated criticisms without experiencing it yourself or being told how to feel about it by a creator.

As players, we feel there is no connection to EA. They are just some ambiguous, monolithic, multi-billion dollar corporation. But creators are distinct figureheads to whom the community can express themselves in hopes that the creator can use their platform to make positive changes for their viewers. This brings me back full circle to my initial point. While I think Nick's initial statement was divisive in wording, I think the message was to create solidarity between the creators and their viewers. Regardless of affiliation, creators should not be scared to make their thoughts public, especially if it's critical of EA. I don't think this means that creators who don't should be bombarded with hate by any means either. However, that same sentiment does not abstain creators from FAIR criticism if the community feels that a creator is not using their platform to advocate for them.

I hope this reaches you with only the best of intentions and I look forward to possibly hearing your thoughts regarding this.
