The one shot where we barely see him in the corner, in the shadows by the streetlight, was the creepiest part. Just barely seeing a creepy form facing you in the shadows is enough to elicit dread. And then that one brief scene of it dashing unnaturally rapidly through the gate

That was really good. I think the cgi at the end would have been better and scarier with a real actor but i still love this. Stairway segment made my skin crawl and not many of these short horrors can do that to me. You found my creep zone on that part. Well done!

Extremely taut and well made; it hits all the right notes in all the right places.
HOWEVER - It still commits the one unforgivable horror film sin which is so over-used someone should make a film of their own about it: The old trope of having a cell phone and not using it. If I was being menaced by a creepy intruder, I would be on the phone to police instantly. I wouldn't linger about to question the flickering lights. And I certainly wouldn't just sit down and wait to see which door the killer was hiding behind. AND THEN use the phone as a flashlight instead of calling for help? SERIOUSLY?

This reminds me so much of the 1991 stop motion short film. If I remember the legend of the Sandman correctly, she’s gonna get both her eyes removed so Sandy can fed his kids.
