I believe that the second one, suffering to bliss is the best, because of the mindset. The thing about the first one, you are living your life with that dread in the back of your head that you will eventually suffer for eternity. But the second one you live every day with the hope and possibility of a better tomorrow. That hope is what will keep you going through the pain, rather than being caught in a spiral of despair.
