Warrant Officers were always like unicorns, you heard rumours that they exist, but were not sure where they come from, and then if you did catch a glimpse of one. you and your boys were like "What the hell was that?"

Stood on those yellow footprints a month after 9/11, back then warrant officers were like unicorns, a rare breed⚡️

Love it. As a 1stSgt/SgtMaj I told my C.O. I worked for him and I'll take care of the enlisted. And to have his XO take care of the officers. Respect and courtesy still maintained with all ranks.

In all seriousness your video took me back 40 years to Beruit 1983-84. There was a navy warrant officer who went by the title “Bosin” Ellis and looked like and built like John Wayne. He was in charge of a small Seabee team that was responsible for maintaining the causeways between the beach and ships. He got into fights with seals, sailors Marines and whoever else made the mistake of interrupting his nap or beer time. Thank you for your videos as they bring back so many good memories. 👊🏻👍

The warrants I remember were aloof. Usually around Battalion, and Regiment office.
Places I only went when summoned.

I carried a radio for a while for Gunner Stamnitz who was the Weapons Platoon Commander in our Company.
He was a CWO4, and a combat veteran of Korea and Vietnam Nam.
Without a doubt, he was the best tactical thinker I ever met. It was like he could read the minds of whoever we were fighting.

I retired as a LDO Captain. I went through WO-CWO3. I always loved my SgtsMaj I had. However we related to each other other. It is all about how you relate and open your mind.

Gunns here, I had a WO that I worked with that thought he was best friends with the SNCO’s I had to remind him that if he wanted a friend get a dog.

Thats right...warrant officers have been doing their job at a high level for long time and they are usually the best of both the enlisted and officer world..and a SgtMaj is just... well a Sgt Maj.. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Anyone can do a Sgt Maj's job.. I see MGySgt that fill in for Sgts Major all the time.. A Sgt Maj cant do that.. 😅

Thinking of my time in the Corps, particularly my time as an NCO….. I’m imagining how I’d feel if I heard “Hey, CWO2 is looking for you” ?
Because when hearing “SGTMAJ is looking for you” it makes your pucker tighten so hard, you’ll likely walk away with the chair still attached 😂

Warrant Officers are usually playing golf with Colonels and Generals from what I ever saw.
