I had the same problem, ended up cutting it into strips and doing a traditional lattice by hand!! So glad I’m not the only one to struggle but after reading the comments below will give it another go!

Chill the dough first, even freeze it. Then heavily dip the cutter in flour. Even after that, as you start rolling, you need pull the dough back so it doesn't roll over itself. If you press down firmly, holding the back side of that dough down, it will come out fine. Just a little patience and using the courage of your convictions.

I'd dust the top with flour as well after chilling it and dip the cutter into the flour then shake off the excess.

Girl! My daughter and I laughed so hard. Not AT you however. I YouTubed how to use this seemingly EASY tool works. I hope you did as well. Its really is easy, but you have to leave the ends in tack. Thanks for the giggle.

Chill pastry and keep pastry flat when rolling with cutting tool so it doesn't curl up with cutter whilst applying a bit more pressure when cutting. Practise will give you command over that cutter, lol yes it's a pain when learning to use it. You'll be fine dear.

Thanks for making this video. I was this thinking about buying this tool but it doesn't seem that hard to just use a ruler and a small knife to cut those lines on the dough. I'm saving my money. Sometimes too many tools just do nothing but clutter up the kitchen.

Oh, that looks like a huge pain!! I imagine chilling the dough first would help somewhat.

Do not start rolling at the edge of the dough. Start 2” in. You need to hold down the edge also as you roll.
