The most effective techniques are the most simple ones, you dont need to do trapping you dont need to do any spinning techniques, you dont need any locks, just put your "weapon" from point A to point B and thats it. But people like to do things complicated- even though it can be that simple.. what a shame. But that just shows what a gread mind Bruce was and what a service you guys from IFO are doing for keeping the REAL JKD alive by preaching and evolving it even further, thank you guys and great video Thomas! I have always loved the fencing aspect of JKD ever since Tommy told me about it in Glasgow 10 years ago! It is a beautiful art that unfortunately only ever seems to get its due during the Olympics.

Either way, always good to see a simple decent explanation regarding it's place in BL' s art.

So sad to see wannabe jkd teachers neglect the physics behind what makes it so fast and decisive to promote personal favoritism in relation to traditional more complex and un practical arts.

It seems not only do they understand what Bruce wanted more than what he did but they also argue about this physical realms fundamental laws such as speed, gravity, kinetic force.

I watched some vids about champion dart throwing
The experts had such precision, such fine motor control with darts.
I imagined what that would be like with a simple finger jab.
Completely non telegraphic
Surgically accurate against a rapidly moving and unpredictable opponent.

Blocking your lead punch, switch to groin kick instead of the hook punch .much cleaner plus 99% of people can't defend to change the line with groin target.

I was thinking that JKD has three ' friends ' :

Distance
Time
Action

I use action last because we know that action is faster than reaction and yes, for a person to block the first attack THEN switch and block the SECOND attack after that I'm gone LoL !!!! Indeed Bruce exemplified the ways of attack in his films in which he used various. In the street have no time and must be as direct and non telegraphic as you can be and it's really who gets there first. To ' feel ' which way the situation is going and then STOPPING it before it starts.
