The Last Waltz (2002)

¡IMPORTANT!
If anyone thinks they have footage (audience or professional) or an audience recording that no one else has (or that I haven't published) and wants to make it public, they can contact me.
¡IMPORTANT!

I never liked that they shortened the songs so that the movie didn't last that long, or at least they could have given them as bonus material for the 40th anniversary

Rick Danko is my cousin. I obviously never got to follow his career as he died only a few years after I was born. However, my mother always made me watch this concert in its entirety growing up so I knew who my cousin was and knew a part of our family history, and I’m so thankful she did. This particular genre isn’t my style, but when it comes to The Band, you CANNOT help but love every second of their music, no matter the song. This show was so powerful to me because you see them all at their worst, yet all at their very best. Truly a great end to their career.

"I just spent 60 days in the jailhouse for the crime of having no dough now here I am back out on the street for the crime of having nowhere to go"
Great lyric imo.

It doesn't get much better than that. It's hard to believe that they are all gone. RIP, Garth.

RIP Richard. I know you were struggling around this time but I'm glad you found your voice again in your final years.

Basic, not commercial, and pure. The music of The Band just gets down to your soul.

Good to se them go out on top, at the height of their musicality....RIP Richard, Levon, Dank, and Robbie. Garth is the only one left...86 yrs old.

Enormous talents...all of them. So sad it ended as it did for Richard. Love this song and his performance.

Whenever I see a video from The Last Waltz I'm struck by how much into the music they all were. Just such perfection, Robbie's guitar playing Levon and Richard singing and my favorite RIck Danko, and Garth whatever he does so unusual and perfect.

This came on tv one day and my dad walked past and told me to go back and that I needed to watch it. Thanks dad. Miss you.

When you look back now, the guy who edited the Last Waltz movie should have gotten some kind of recognition for editing excellence ! Completely brilliant .

Even a deteriorating Richard was better than most. I'm proud to share a birthday with this man.

Such a travesty that Scorcese had the camera operators adoring all of Robbie's hair flips instead of focusing in on Richard.
