Today I review the Harbor Freight Heat-Shrink Butt Connector while repairing some Christmas lights that were damaged by Rabbits this winter. Very impressed with this product and highly recommend them. Harbor Freight is really putting out some very good products now.

Neat! I didn't know Harbor Freight carried those, I'll have to pick some up. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the video!! Working on repairing some old wiring in my Gen 2 firebird. These should work nicely.

Any need to get an extra layer of heat shrink wrap to fully encase the connection? Was curius how the heat wrap on each hold up over time.

When I was in the Navy in the 1980's we had connectors that looked like these but didn't use a crimp. They had shrink wrap with a short tube of solder in the middle. You would strip and insert your wires, then heat it with the heat gun. First, the wrap would shrink, then the solder would melt. The wrap would then shrink more, squeezing the solder into the wires. There was also glue/sealant in the wrap. They were extremely effective, but I've never seen these anywhere since.

The heat shrink tubing does NOT have any glue on the inside of the butt connector.

I'd buy em in a pinch, but stuff like that is dirt cheap on ebay and you get 100 or so not these little packs of 4 or 8.

Convenient but better to twist the wires together, solder, and then heat shrink. Better electrical and mechanical CV connection and also water proof.
