I swear, all I do is cry at strangers and dogs on the internet. This show is like therapy. At the minute I constantly feel disappointed in the world - seeing so much suffering and hate out there takes a toll and you begin to feel quite helpless. These videos remind me that goodness, kindness and love still exist.

It must have taken so much strength for Pauline to leave such a long relationship, it’s so amazing to see her happy and thriving

Fabulous video…many years ago I was owned by my first miniature schnauzer…His name was Stoney and he developed diabetes and went blind after that. The most beautiful thing is that his blindness never stopped him. I treated him like normal and his other senses took over. He truly was an amazing friend.

When we adopted our senior (50+kg) Cane Corso boy of 10+ years (previous owner died), he didn't even look at me the first 5-6 times that I visited him at the shelter. The 7th time he briefly glanced my way and gave the smallest wag with his tail. He needed time, around six months to fully settle and feel comfortable. Now, eight months later, we have the happiest, most affectionate dog who is the nicest dog that I have ever met. The dogs just need time, space, and gentle affection. Don't be scared of adopting (senior) dogs, people! :)

1:55 “ the dog that needs us. The most is going to be the dog for us., ” thank heavens. I have been waiting for you.

I can tell everyone involved is very well trained and well educated on dog behavior and dog adjustment but that is what baffles me so much about how the people can enter this little garden space and expect an instant connection with a rescue dog. A lot of of these dogs have been through trauma and just basically a lot of them have a whole lotta question marks about their past so we have to move slow. I want to see more episodes where if the people don’t come in with this kind of attitude that you all educate them about this kind of attitude before the meet and greet

Clarence: Perfect people, this is the attitude adopters should have towards rescue dogs. Lovely adoption stories

Ava! How lovely to see the almost instant bond with her new Mum!

I wish we lived near Wood Green. It was horrible spending two years of being turned down by nearer dog charities who made an automatic, ageist decision that we were too old for a medium size dog, despite the fact we still run our own smallolding. Our place and lifestyle is not right for a lap dog.
We have a lovely boy now, who is being operated on today. He came to us via a lady who rescued and rehomes as an independent but is now retired from it. He will be better soon and needs a friend, but we don't have faith in the charities after seeing so many dogs returned to shelters because they were given to people who didn't realise a dog is for life, not just until a pandemic ends. I hold hose centres as responsible for those dogs being 're-abandoned while turning us away or ignoring our applications directly, without even meeting us.
I would love to come to Wood Green. But it is too far away.

True and it's about time we recognise that pigs, cows and chickens have the same capacity for pain and love. Just because we made the decision that one species could be our company and the others food doesn't mean that we should ignore that science tells us they are equal in their capability to feel pain.

Marnie was my greatest love in this video. I had a dog that went blind suddenly. I’ve always regretted that I couldn’t give her a better life that is available now because we know so much more about treating them as much as possible as regular dogs. So blind dogs are my weakest point. The next lot are the tripods missing a front leg. They’re at more of a disadvantage than those with missing hind legs. The whole point though, is that no matter what handicap they carry, a dog deserves to live and thrive.❤️

We all have a disability or two, be it dog or human, just some are more obvious than others.
