I recently got the "where do you get your protein" question while eating a dish made from (among other things) 230g of lentils, 140g of hummus and whole wheat bread.

We added our dishes to cronometer and mine contained 41g of protein while hers was 25, despite having more calories.

I usually don't eat like that, and that might actually have been one of my highest protein meals this month, but it sure felt good.

I normally agree with everything you say, but I completely disagree that it's cruel to keep cats inside. Outdoor cats have a life expectancy of only 2-3 years, and indoor-only cats can easily live 15-20 years.

If anyone gets tired of answering the same questions over and over I suggest you refer them to this video. Point out the fact that each question has its own chapter in the description. I thought she did a great job of answering every question.

I don't think keeping cats indoors is cruel. The lifespan of an indoor cat is much longer than an outdoor cat. Outdoor cats are also more likely to get parasites or pass diseases to each other, such as feline leukemia virus from bites. More likely to be poisoned. If anything, people should purchase catios, not allow their cats to roam.

I actually just decided to go vegan as of the 18th of September this year, for a number of reasons. Before then, I was VERY much a meat-eater. That said, I have found that I actually don't miss any meat or dairy at all... which I didn't expect. I am around lots of meat-eaters on a regular and daily basis, so I thought it would be much more challenging.
Going vegan has been one of the best things I have done, and not just for the health benefits, but I also feel like a better person in general.

Letting cats outside unsupervised is cruel, both for your cat and for native small animal populations. You wouldn’t let your dog roam the neighbourhood, so don’t let your cat do it. Supervised time outside on a harness or in an enclosure is great. Releasing a non-native predator everyday is crazy.

18:22 - Amazing

Great video as always. I feel like I watched enough of your videos to have heard most (if not all) of these questions answered, but having them in one video is great for people who have questions about veganism and may find it.

Indoor cats is not cruel! Outdoor cats are almost always killed by a car or another animal. There are so many ways to enrich them inside with bird feeders at windows, tunnels, puzzles, cat trees, I even taught mine high five, spin, sit, etc! And of course regular playtime everyday ❤

I've been a dietary vegan for 2 years, mainly because I have a genetic metabolic disorder. My body and skin look and feel so much better than when I was a carnivore. Love your channel & content. I'm a subscriber in 🇬🇧

On outdoor cats:
Numbers vary, but it's estimated that cats kill 1- 4 BILLION birds per year in the U.S.
I volunteered as a wildlife rehabilitator for many years. I saw thousands of rabbits, birds, and squirrels injured by outdoor cats. Who knows how many never made it to the hospital?

Wholeheartedly disagree with your take about keeping cats indoors being cruel. Providing them with appropriate enrichment and stimulation and taking them out for walks - infinitely better than allowing them to free roam and encounter many potential pitfalls that come with this. Many resulting in pain and usually a violent death. Just because something is natural doesn't mean it's always the best thing. I would have expected you to agree with that take. I think adopting a cat that previously lived outside and keeping it in MIGHT be cruel in some instances. I am also against any type of cat breeding.
PS: I am so surprised that you've been to a zoo multiple times since being vegan! I would never have expected that. What would you say was the value of that particular experience in the context of spending time with your family? Did you see any benefits?

We are not vegan yet, but since we started eliminating meats and really limiting dairy we have seen our costs go down. Just not buying beef and pork we saw noticeable savings.

Domestic cats are here to stay (at least for now) the best answer is to mitigate suffering (indoors only, meat industry byproducts ("trash") if available, barn cats on farms ect.)
Honey over all can be unethical, but some farmers are ethical even more so than sugar cane and agave production so it's mutable(circumstance based.)
Ultimately, mostly agree!
Eat your beans; eat your greens! 😎

I’ve tried doing a pescaterian thing for a couple months now, where I also don’t buy dairy to eat at home (but can eat if I go out to eat). This is for health reasons, I just feel less heavy and tired after the meals and eat a lot less saturated fat and a lot more fibre this way. I’ve even lost a few excess pounds without doing anything else. I doubt I’ll ever give up meat fully just cos I don’t have such strong moral/ethical feels about it, and during this test I had meat on two special occasions (and already know I’ll have ham on christmas). But honestly I’m quite surprised how pleasant and easy it has been and I see no reason to stop. I’ve cut down on animal products drastically without much effort at all :o

Watching this video while eating a vegan “pork” pie (a vegan version of a traditional British food I had missed). Most of the time I eat whole food but a couple of times a week I’ll have a vegan treat food. The point is to save animals and my fake pork pie achieves that!
