As much as I loved and admired the composition and intense message of Ms. Wiley’s poem, I think the elements of her well-crafted piece could have made a deeper impact without the almost theatrical dramatic reading. I acknowledge she owns her work in its totality and can read it in any manner she chooses but my impression was the delivery distracted from the poem itself.
